Knifofie neboli mnohokvět neboli Kleopatřina jehla je trávovitou trvalkou, která u nás získává na popularitě. Jejím hlavním obdobím květu je srpen a září. Mnohokvěty jsem pěstovala na sice osluněném, ale vlhčím stanovišti, zimu 2011 přečkal pouze cv. 'Percy's Pride', byl už ale na stanovišti déle. Další byly ty níže zobrazené a cv. 'Earliest of All'. Pokud si tedy knifofii hodláme pořídit, vybereme dle doporučení sušší umístění nebo na zimu instalujeme ochranu proti vlhku. Rostliny umísťujeme do popředí nebo středu záhonu.
Red Hot Poker is a grasslike perennial, increasingly popular in our country. Its main flowering months are August and September. I have grown Kniphofias in a sunny, but a bit moist place and only cv. 'Percy's Pride' survived the winter of 2011, but it has been there longer. The other were these pictured below with cv. 'Earliest od All'. So if we plan to grow Kniphofias, we should place them in a dry position as recommended, or install some anti-moisture cover in winter. Plants should be positioned in the forefront or middle of the border.
'Ice Queen'. Květenství této knifofie jsou velmi podobná kultivaru 'Percy's Pride', jsou však neseny níže, ve výšce do 80 cm. Mohou se ale objevit už na mladší rostlině a ve větším množství. Květonosné stonky mohou u 'Percy's Pride' dosáhnout výšky až 130 cm.
'Ice Queen'. Its flowerheads are very similar to the 'Percy's Pride' ones, but are lower, in a height of 80 cm. Nevertheless they can appear on a younger plant and in a larger amount. 'Percy's Pride' inflorescences can reach a height up to 130 cm.
Květenství cv. 'Alcazar' jsou už z dálky nepřehlédnutelná a působí hodně pozitivně. Dosahují výšky do 1 m.
