Helichrysum neboli smil je v našich krajích známý spíš v zastoupení druhu bracteatum, slaměnky oblíbené v suchých vazbách. Je to však také hodnotná balkonovka, dekorativní převážně svými stříbrnými listy.
Helichrysum, aka everlasting, is in our area represented mainly by species bracteatum, golden everlasting used in dry arrangements. But it is also a useful potted plant, decorative particularly with its silver foliage.

H. apiculatum ´Baby Gold´. Tall about 30 cm, wind-resistant, flowers can be dried, likes moister soil and fertilizer for surfinias, propagation by dividing, seeds.

H. microphyllum ´Silver Mist´. Semi-climbing, poisonous, nipping off for compact growth.

H. petiolare. Fast-growing, wind-resistant, propagation by dividing and cuttings.
Fantastic photos of these fabulous plants. I love Helichrysum, many of them are native to Australia. They are tough, hardy, drought resistant plants that always look great. I have Helic. petiolare at home too. :) Thanks for the post.
