Villa Pallavicino

Kousek od Stresy se rozkládá park, který patří k Ville Pallavicinů. Místo nabízí nejen panoramatický pohled na Lago Maggiore, ale také otevřené trávníkové plochy, bezpočet zajímavých dřevin a dokonce zoologickou zahradu. Z dendrologického hlediska stojí za zmínku majestátní sekvoje, jinany, platany, duby nebo třeba jedinečný libanonský cedr u vily. Je zde situováno rozárium s loubím popínavých růží, jejichž velké, těžké květy se půvabně sklánějí ke kolemjdoucím. Zatímco v rozlehlé oboře mohou zejména děti zažít bezprostřední kontakt třeba s volně pobíhajícími daňky, ostatní části parku oživuje například výběh se pštrosy, klec s mývaly, jezero s plameňákem nebo voliéry mimo jiné také s krásně zbarveným tukanem a mluvícím papouškem. Vila není veřejnosti přístupná. Otevírací doba je od konce března do konce října, od 9 do 18 hodin, vstupné je placené.

There is a park placed near Stresa, which belongs to the Villa Pallavicino. Its position offers not only panoramic views of the Lago Maggiore, but open lawns, a number of interesting trees and even a Zoo as well. From a dendrological aspect there could be mentioned stately sequoias, ginkgos, plane-trees, oaks or e.g. an exceptional cedar of Lebanon near the building. A part of the park is a rose garden with arbors covered with climbing varieties whose large, heavy blooms hanging gracefully to passers-by. While in a spacious enclosure particularly children can touch free walking animals, e.g. fallow-deers, other parts are enlivened with ostriches or racoons and there is also a pond with a flamingo or aviaries with beautifully coloured toucan or speaking parrot among others. The building of villa is not open to the public. Opening days are from the end of March till the end of October, from 9.00 a.m. till 18.00 p.m. There are entrance fees.
